Week 11 (w/c 9 February 2004)
- Before I say anything I have
absolutely wonderful news - YOU ARE NOW READING FROM AN AUTHOR WHO
HAS RECEIVED HER FIRST ONLINE MARKETING BREAK...
- Over the next 2 months I will be
Joint Venturing with another Marketer to create a product that
will sell over the Net and I will be documenting ever step I
take to show how money can actually be made online.
- I'm using Yanik Silver and Jim
Edwards book, www.33daystoonlineprofits.com
amongst others to help us on our way. If you haven't
purchased this book yet, I
urge you to do so. Of everything that I've read, this book
is the most comprehensive if you have a product to sell!
I'll tell you all about the project in my eNewsletter to keep
your ears tuned!
- Well, well, well - I've made some
major changes on the site this week. To start, this weekly
Progress report is actually going to be completely scaled down.
I'm going to post my weekly eNewsletter in a separate location for
subscribers only and give a very narrow definition of updates here.
- Why? It will cut down on a
duplication of effort AND it will offer my subscribers a reward
for reading my eNewsletter - they will be the ones who have full
access to my trials, tribulations and MAJOR success path.
- Additions/Changes:
- Home page now reflects a
Short-copy sales letter to get people to join the subscription
list. Why? I needed more focus and since I'm not selling
anything, I need to promote my eNewsletter to grow my list!
- I've added another supporter,
check him out here.
- Notes on the UK Meet Feb 04
Internet Marketers have been uploaded for subscribers to view.
- Purchased an autoresponder (see
definition & review
here) and
changed the way that my eNewsletter boxes look and take
information. I now have an eMail that automatically gets
sent out thanking the new subscriber and offering them the url
for the past eNewsletters and access to other goodies.
They are also directed to a new thank you
page.
- General maintenance to make sure
each page looks okay!

Week
10 (w/c 2nd February 2004)
- Friday has definitely snuck up on me
this week - it feels like time is flying by and I can't slow it
down...Every night I toss and turn endlessly before I drift off into
a wonderful and solid sleep. Before I'm able to count all the sheep
in the field, it's day break. What's amazing is that I'm excited and
happy in my dreams and actually wake up smiling! That has NEVER
happened to me before..except perhaps on Christmas Morning...
- Well folks, this week has been even
more amazing that the ones that have proceeded it. I feel
APPREHENSIVE to share everything with you due to the fact that the
information I have to offer does not deal with Making Money Online,
BUT I'm going to do it anyway and I hope that in some sort of way
that it adds value to your life.
- Where do I start? I'm so freaking
excited that I can't stand it. I've never felt so alive, so happy,
so eager to share my knowledge, excitement and passion. Earlier this
week, I was telling Dad about how I felt and I said something like
this,
"Dad, I've never worked so hard in my life, yet felt so alive and
wealthy even though I don't have a pot to piss in."
And Dad replied, "Kim, you're not working, you're living."
Isn't that cool?
- Moving on, I'm sure you're wondering
why I'm so excited? Well, let me tell you. When I went to my first
UK Internet Marketers Network meeting in January, I met a man called
Vanish and he's a *business Angel*. (For those of you that didn't
know about the event, I went there to learn how I could make Money
Online!!!)
Vanish helps people
with their businesses by offering knowledge, financing and contacts.
He's an angel because he has the ability to take your hand and show
you the path to success.
For some reason, Vanish took an interest in my eNewsletter and
website. To my absolute astonishment, we talked over the phone and
our discussions ended in a *joint-venture*. Come to find out, he
thought my writing was good felt that he'd like to do a project with
me. (Double, Double Yippeeeeee)
In return for me writing a Property/Real Estate eNewsletter to his
subscribers along with helping to plan a Property Networking event,
he offered to help me by mentoring, introducing me to investors and
opening the doors to unlimited opportunity.
- On a side note, although I'm trying
to make money online, I'm also interested in any way to create
wealth so property suits me just fine!
- To put some closure on my story and
to show you why I'm so excited, I've met over 5 property experts
this week alone with over 20 people either on there way to financial
freedom through property or just starting. I've met tax advisors,
wealth managers, a farmer striking it rich with his land and a
wonderful man willing to share his bankruptcy story and how he's
rebuilding his life through property...IT'S BEEN AMAZING.
- ON TOP OF ALL THAT, lots of these
property people want to know how to use the Internet to market their
property eBooks, eCourses or property related products. GUESS WHO
CAN HELP THEM?
- So - How does this all relate to
YOU? Well...what I'm getting at is this KEY LESSON:
If you want to find financial freedom and create an amazing
lifestyle, my experience is that you HAVE TO TAKE ACTION AND GIVE
SOMETHING OF YOURSELF (i.e. my website and newsletter) SO THAT YOU
GET IN FRONT OF AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE and opportunities have no
choice but to land on your doorstep. The KEY is to get off your BUTT
and do something - anything to push forward on your own right, as
your own person...
- My website as it is now, would never
make much money, but look at what potential I have gained because of
it? Sometimes we set out not knowing HOW things will come, but as
long as we know WHAT we're aiming for, we have a greater chance of
success.
- New Additions to 'Resource/Review' Page
As mentioned above, I've added another free eBook along with my
thoughts on the subject matter and the book as a whole. The book is
called, "The Greatest Money Making Secret in History!" by Joe
Vitale.
I URGE you to read the review and then scan through the FREE book.
HOWEVER, please note that
many of the links in the eBook no longer work as it is out of
date...but the content is still good!
Read review here:
http://www.moneyonlinereview.com/free_resources.htm#The_Greatest_Money-Making_Secret_in_History!_by_Joe_Vitale
- New Additions to 'Sanity Tools' Page
I've added another book review and UNFORTUNATELY Americans can not
purchase the book until mid-March as it hasn't made it across the
Atlantic as of yet (must be going by boat?!?!?). HOWEVER, I urge you
to pre-order on Amazon or write the books name down as it is most
interesting.
The book titled, "The Luck Factor," by Richard Wiseman is quite
interesting. Wiseman is a psychologist and has taken 10 years to
scientifically PROVE that luck is MADE, not something that simply
happens..Wiseman also shows you how to improve your luck..It's a
MUST-READ for any of you pessimists or unlucky people!
Check it out here:

- Weekly Progress and Upcoming Events
On the 8th of February there is another UK Meet in Birmingham if
anyone is interested in joining me!

Week 8 & 9 (w/c 19 & 25 January 2004):
From the 21st to the 29th, I met my mother (from
Rochester, NY) in Florida at a Conference put on my Robert Allen and
Mark Victor Hanson. Allen is famous for his Real Estate books and
Hanson for his 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' books. Both authors
wrote, "The One Minute Millionaire" which I highly recommend.
- Where the heck do I start? So
much happened on so many different levels that I don't know how to
verbalise it, let alone write it down.
- The conference was on becoming
*Enlightened* millionaires or in other words, wealthy people that
are also balanced, spiritual, happy, giving, etc. Hanson and
Allen teach about multiple streams of income - i.e. Online
Marketing, Property, writing books and ebooks, and so on.
- Let me start with my mom...Mom and I
talk almost every day on the phone and for the last several years
I've been trying to get her to think more positively and to become a
Victor rather than a Victim. Willey-nilley, she's made
progress.
- Over the course of our time
together in Florida, Mom progressed over 1000% and blossomed
into this empowering, enthusiastic and energised person.
- Since then, she's become a twin
of me and calls me each morning to say that she can't sleep, she
has tons of ideas and that she's way too excited.
- On top of learning about
multiple streams of income, mom learned how to break free from
the Victim mental state and is now going for the gold...(Her
name is Barb Tranello, so keep an eye out for her name -
especially on eBay.)
- Mom and I spent 7 full days
together alone - we've never done that in our entire history.
It was WONDERFUL. We both had a great time and it will
forever be in our memories..
- On a side note, mom and I
managed to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
There was barely a soul in either park so we managed to get the
front seats to every single ride...no waiting in lines either.
- Any way...I'm afraid of
roller coasters, but since mom had broken through so many
barriers, I decided that it's all in the mind. Mom and
I walked up to the HULK at Islands of Adventures and since
there were no lines, we got right on the ride. I
didn't even have a chance to look at the ride. The guy
who put us on the ride said:
"Have you been on this ride yet?"
Mom said, "No, is it good?"
(Keep in mind that I'm having serious issues at this
point...I'm starting to perspire, my jaw is locked tight and
I'm getting a non-controllable tick in my face).
The guy responded, "This ride is pretty slow - let me know
if you like it!"
In my mind, I thought, "Thank God - it's not a fast
ride..."I started to relax and the ride started its climb up
a steep hill.
Half way up the ride, something happened....the ride went
from 0-60 miles per hour and I would have freaked out, but
didn't have time to. The ride shot out of a tube and
went up, down, sideways, upside-down, you name it...
HOLLY COW is all that I can say. I screamed for my
life until my saliva dried up and there was no voice left to
come out....
On arrival back at the exit, I managed to get off the ride,
but my legs gave way and I was shaking incessantly.
Mom looked like a fright also, so it must be a
passenger-wide effect.
Recently, I was told that the HULK is the fastest ride in
the world - I don't know if that's true, but I wouldn't
doubt it...You've been warned!
- Then there was Dad and Suzi.
They live in Sarasota and came up on Sunday to take me out for
dinner. Previous to the trip I was a bit concerned about how I
was going to leave Mom and go out with Dad....keep in mind that mom
was still a bit of a victim at this point..
- Well...Dad called up and left a
message on our hotel phone and invited mom to join us.
- Part of me was excited that I'd
have my Mom, Dad and Suzi together all in one room and the other
part of my was crapping my pants. The last time that the
three were together was at my wedding in 1998 and it was TENSE.
- Any way - Dad and Suzi pulled up
to our ghetto hotel (mom and I don't have much money so we
stayed in a room rented by the hour....NO - just kidding...but
it wasn't far off). They pulled up in a Stretch Limousine
where mom and I piled in. (What a treat!)
- Let me tell you this - it was a
night of laughter, happiness, closure and love. Dad, Suzi,
Mom and I all had a positive attitude. Dad and Suzi took
us to Paradise Island at Disney where we had a meal at Wolfgang
Puff or Puck (living in England, I don't know these fancy chef
people - we eat Baked Beans for Pete's sake).
|
-
I suppose that I should
mention the conference - aye? Well, as you can see from mom's
experience it was very helpful. I took tons of notes and
MoneyOnlineReview newsletter subscribers have received some of them
in my last newsletter. I guess that there is just too much to
tell you about.
-
Of the speakers we
heard, there was Jay Abraham, a Marketing Guru, Harv Ecker, a
developmental speaker, a Stock guy, lots of real estate speakers, a
woman on the Internet, and on and on. In future newsletters, I
will try to type out more of what I learned...and obviously my site
will hold more and more information as and when I get a chance to
write it!
-
For now, that's my
update - I hope it was interesting!

Week 7 (w/c 12 January 2004): Oh-My-Freakin-Gosh...this
has been the most absolutely amazing and incredible weeks of my entire
Online-Marketing endeavour. I just hope that I can accurately
paint a picture of everything that happened. This entry might be a
long one!
- I'll start with last Friday (Jan
9th). Ever since I started working online, I made a little
agreement with myself so that I wouldn't go overboard with my new
role. I wanted to prevent myself from becoming one of those
*geeks* that sit in front of the monitor for hours on end until the
weeee hours of the night. Until Saturday, I kept that
agreement and managed work and play very well.
- Early Saturday morning - I couldn't
sleep due to excitement, so I went Online around 1am in the morning
to check my eMail and poodle around. Half conscious, I read an
email from Joe Robson at the Newbie Club. Earlier that week, I
had asked him to review my site (Joe was a speaker at the UK Meet in
Birmingham and was obviously a great person to ask advice from).
This is what he wrote:
Hi
Kim,
Great newsletter and a great site you have. I commend you!
I've given your site a mention in my Newbie Club Newsletter
which will go out on Saturday.
Keep in touch.
Joe Robson.
- Suddenly, my heart dropped, my pulse
took off and I was both extremely excited and terribly concerned.
From what I remembered at the UK Meet, Joe had a HUMONGOUS
Newsletter list...hence my name and site would be going to 10,000's
of people. YIKES - no, Double YIKES. What if my forms
didn't work and people wanted to subscribe to my newsletter, what if
no one liked my site? What if I still had typo's? What
if I wrote something wrong? OH-MY-GOSH...I was freaking out
big style.
- All morning (from 1am to 4am) I
worked to get my site as functional as possible. I went
through every page and made sure that there were no big blocks of
text. Thankfully, Mike Blacktopp, and Online Guru from the UK
Meet had asked his associates and team to give me feedback on my
site. They sent in typo's, recommendations for better wording,
kind words of support and all sorts of links and ways to promote my
site. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have managed to make
all the necessary changes and feel like I actually prepared my site.
I'm ever so grateful for their help and support.
- All through Saturday, I worked away
making administrative changes and just double-checking everything
that I could. I had no idea what I was in store for...
- By Saturday evening, I was inundated
with eMails and people subscribing to my newsletter. Hundreds
of messages were pouring in and I was overwhelmed. I couldn't
believe the support, kind words and positive feedback that I was
receiving...not to mention the fact that I was getting messages from
New Zealand, India, USA, Canada...all over the world. I even
received an eMail from a woman in my own home town - Rochester, NY.
- I made an effort to reply to
everyone that personally eMailed me and it took until Thursday
before the last response was sent. I was in complete and utter
awe over the amazing things that people were writing - It brought me
to tears and I felt as if I might actually be making a difference to
people. I can't put into words how grateful I am to have lived
this past week - it's an honour and something I will never forget!
(Thank you Joe!)
- Needless to say, I was on the
computer NON-Stop and even when I tried to sleep, I couldn't manage
to drift away. (My unique visitors went from 47 to 1442 in one day)
On Tuesday, I started to develop a tick in my right eye - you
know how your eye starts to murmur when you're over tired. How
funny is that? I went out and bought one of those Hypnosis
CD's that are suppose to let you drift off to sleep. I've used
it ever night, but I'm just to damn excited to sleep anymore!
- Thankfully, the emails have slowed
and I've managed to take control of my Inbox once again.
Fortunately, my ADSL (Internet) connection miraculously repaired
itself between Tuesday and today, so the frustration of that was
gone. Sadly, I'm experiencing the problem once again.
- This all just goes to show you that
face-to-face networking can really make a difference.
Thankfully, Joe enjoyed my website enough to send a message out
about it. Just imagine if you meet someone willing to do the
same?
- Making Money - OH MY GOSH
- I ACTUALLY MADE SOME MONEY EVERYONE!!!! I know it's not
much, but I'm over the moon. Over the last week, I made $47.51
through Amazon, ClickBank and Google Adsense. Check out my
Wealth-O-Meter to see the
breakdown. Once I saw my account say something other than
$0.00, I flipped and called Mom, Dad & Suzi, and Sim's parents.
Yippppeeee! Everyone has to start somewhere!
- On the 12th of January, I added
Google AdSense to my site (check my definition out
here). Since the
12th, I've actually made $5.33. Imagine if I had that up
and working earlier when I received the 1142 hits? I am,
however a bit concerned because it gives people a reason to
leave the site - that's not what I want!!!
- As a tip, if you want to
pursue a site that comes up on the Google ads, just
Right-Click and hit Open in New Window. That way, this
website will remain behind it!
- Overture. Since the 9th
of January, I've received 98 hits and it cost me $15.61 - not bad.
I've been adding new keywords every few days...It seems like the
best idea is to work on Overture a bit at a time. At least I'm
getting some more traffic and the money I'm spending is a free
credit any way.
- Amazon.co.uk has been added for
my British friends. If you're going to buy a book through
Amazon and your in Britain, please go through my site first! I
make 15% on anything you buy and it will help to support me as I
continue updating this website! (Go to my
book review page and just hit the Amazon.co.uk banner)
- Created a confirmation page
for anyone that sends me something through the 'Contact Me'
page. It even confirms your name and eMail address.
It took forever, but I'm happy with the nice personalized results!
- Sanity Tools. I added
another book review on,
How to Win Friends and
Influence People, by Dale Carnegie. Even if you've already
read the book or are like me and think the Title is *goofy,* I
suggest you read my review because I added how it specifically
helped me!
- Support Me. I added Joe
Robson, Mike Blacktopp and team, the wonderful woman from Texas that
signed up for an Amazon.Com card along with others from the Newbie
Club who wrote to me. Check out all of my supporters
here!
- About Me. I've added
another story about getting what you ask for. I was at the
coffee shop over the week and just decided to write on my pad.
The text you'll find there is what came out! Check it out
here!
- Resource/Reviews has a new Page
called FREE Resources! There are so many free eBooks out
there and a few of them are exceptional! When I come across a
good one, I'll review it and give you the link so that you can
benefit from the information as well. I also added the
reasoning behind free eBooks and how it's a great way to establish
credibility and build your Online empire. (Check it out
here)

Week 6 (w/c 5 January 2004): Well, well, well. This week
has been one of the most amazing times of my life, yet on the opposite
side of the coin, I've experienced enough frustration to last a month!
I'll start off with the UK Meet of Online-Marketers that we held in
Birmingham on Sunday:
- UK Meet - after boldly walking into
the Novatel conference room and meeting several people my nerves
started to die and my enthusiasm began to grow. By lunch time
I felt as if I had landed on planet Kim - for the first time in my
entire life, I was surrounded by people who had my same interests,
excitement and passion for life. Perhaps this is what I've
been searching for all along?! In the room there were varying
degree's of marketers - most part-time looking to making it a
full-time endeavour. A few actually made a VERY good living
and worked solely over the Internet for their income and a couple
people have actually retired due to their online successes (some of
the retired ones were younger than me!). The one
characteristic that appeared clear to me was that each and every
member present had a positive and optimistic outlook on life.
More over, these people did not waste time reading newspapers,
watching the news or spending time in front of the TV. These
people were living, sharing and experiencing life. SO - it is
TRUE; you can make a living from the Internet and several people are
proving it possible. The UK Meet solidified my plans to
continue pushing forward with Online Marketing. It may take me
6 months before I bring in any money, yet each day my understanding
and grounding gets deeper and stronger. The key, is to hang in
there and keep reading, acting and taking steps every single day -
no matter how small they may be!
- As you can imagine, my enthusiasm
has been sky-high this week; however in my introduction I mentioned
frustration in the mix of emotions for the week...WELL - my damn
Internet connection is still dropping every 3-5 minutes. As
soon as I get a page to load, the whole thing drops and I have to
wait for it to reconnect. I've had the phone man out who
tested everything and of course, it all works fine. I spent 5
hours installing a new modem with my Internet Service Provider (over
the phone), and when we finally got it to work, the stupid
connection still dropped. What else can it be???? I'm
not even sure if I'll be able to load this page today. What a
bummer. At least I'm able to send and receive my mail in 3-5
minute intervals. I'm not sure what my next step will be -
it's not like I can afford a new computer...Perhaps the connection
will miraculously start to work?
- Aside from the major highs and lows
this week, I managed to read tons and add a few new pages too!
- I received a review on my site
from Andre Chaperon, from
www.auctionhelpguide.com (he was at the UK Meet). It was
fantastic - he gave me some complements and excellent
recommendations. From his feedback, I managed to add my email
address to the bottom of each page, created a catchy title on my
home page, "Straight Talk about Making Money Online," changed my
forms so they had a proper email address rather than my yahoo
address…and hopefully, I'll add my picture soon. If you go to
Andre's site, he offers a 9-day free class on eBay. If
anything, Andre is great to learn from - he seems to have the
whole system worked out and looks ever so professional!
- Thankfully, I received feedback
from other UK Meet people and the information has been
invaluable. In the close future I might be working on a
Joint Venture with Geoff Carter (www.marketinghelpline.com).
On Geoff's site, he offers a great free eBook on Internet
Marketing and he's just released a new product where he
interview's Terry Dean (an Online Guru) on how to generate
traffic to your website. I've read the free book and
downloaded the Interview - both offered amazing amounts of
helpful information. The cool thing about Geoff is that I
know him and he's a great guy - once you start to realise that
people are seriously working to provide a valuable service,
whether they offer free or paid-for stuff...they're ultimately
helping in your plight to make money online!
- I managed to completely break my
newsletter form - for some reason the confirmation page that I
created didn't work and it took me a few minutes to discover the
problem…I was panicking because anyone who entered their name
into my newsletter box would have received an error. Thankfully,
I figured out the problem and went through each page to delete
the newsletter confirmation link. Pheeewww!
- I've added about 17 more
keywords to Overture. Believe it or not, I'm receiving traffic
from them. I've had about 10 visitors directed to my sites from
my adds and that amount is steadily increasing. Sadly, no
one has clicked on one of my affiliate links and purchased
anything! Believe you me, when someone does, I'll shout about
it! I'm seriously starting to realise that it is NOT easy
getting people to just come to your site! The saying, 'Build
it and they will come,' does not work on the Internet!!!!
- I finally finished 33 days to
online profits, by Yanik Silver and Jim Edwards (read my
review here) and became more
empowered as I read each page…The book makes you feel excited
and overwhelmed at the same time - you almost want to stop
reading because your brain just can't cope. I just kept telling
myself, "you have all the time in the world, you have all the
time in the world…take it day by day, one step at a time."
- Went through and changed the
menu structure to hold a few more pages. I'm finding that I
can't go to sleep anymore and I think I'm turning into a
computer junkie - I just can't pull myself off the
computer…Okay, I've added a 'Joint Ventures' Page, 'Other Net
Book Reviews', changed Pay-Per-Click to 'Generate
Traffic'..updated links…fixed errors on my New Years Resolution
Kit pdf...so, please check them all out!

Week 4 & 5 (w/c 22 & 29 December 2003):
During the lead up to Christmas, I managed to get several tasks
completed however I feel extremely guilty for enjoying myself with
drink and food over the festive season! I'm rested and ready to
get back to work - here's to the best year yet! Over the past
(non-productive) two weeks, I completed the following:
- I spent days trying to figure out
'pay-per-click' advertising and used my $50 worth of free credit at
Overture.com, the largest 'pay-per-click' agency. (My web
hosting company gives $50 free credit when you sign up to have your
site hosted by them - I thought it was a good deal. Click here
for my review on web hosting).
- After re-reading The Super Affiliate
Handbook and searching the Net for information, I decided to simply
dive in and open an Overture account to see learn by experience.
After filling in contact and credit card details, I was asked to
pick up to 40 different keywords or phrases that describe my site.
Fortunately, Overture give you a tool that allows you to search the
amount of times people have entered a particular keyword in the past
month. After spending, what seemed like eternity, coming up
with keywords, I was then asked to type in my advertisement for the
ad - YIKES! I had no clue, so I went to Google and typed in my
keywords to see what other advertisers where writing (I looked at
the Google Adwords for help).
Overture also gave some clues, however their help is minimal and
seriously lacks any kind of enthusiasm. Needless to say - It
has been estimated to take me 425 days before my $50 credit runs
out. In other words, I haven't done it correctly because
no-one will be clicking on my site. For a full play by play on
my experience with Overture and 'pay-per-click',
- Researched 'FindWhat,' another
pay-per-click that is much cheaper however less recognised.
- Changed Resource/Reviews menu so
that each page holds the entire Resource/Reviews menu. I was
afraid that people might miss valuable information by not knowing
how to navigate the site.
- Purchased 33 Days to Online Profit (www.33daystoonlineprofits.com)
by Yanik Silver and
Jim Edwards, and I was cheeky enough to actually sign up to become
an affiliate, put the link on my site and then buy it through my own
site! I purchased the book for full price and then immediately
received an eMail stating that I just made a commission - The end
result is that I got the book for 50% off.
- Changed homepage
to hold more keywords in the text - apparently this helps to get
more attention from search engines.
- Wrote another
book review under Sanity Tools:
Excuse Me, Your
Life is Waiting, by Lynn Grabhorn (Check out my book reviews
here).
- All through the Christmas period I
managed to log onto my web host to check my email, Overture to check
how my keywords were doing and all of the affiliate programs that
I'm signed up to. Unfortunately, I've had no luck in
generating any money. The only commission I've managed to drum
up is from my own sale. I refuse to even consider this as a
roadblock. I simply just don't know enough on how to do things
yet. Boy...it seems like it's going to take forever.
- I created a New Years Resolution Kit
to help viewers create their ideal world. If you're interested
in dreaming up an empowering vision, creating a vision board and
working on setting some awesome goals for 2004, please check out my

Week 4 (w/c 15 December 2003):
I just can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by.
Part of me wishes that time would slow down a bit - I've never felt so
excited and positive. For the first time in my life, I feel as if
I'm doing what I should be doing. I'm so very peaceful...This is
what I've managed to complete this week:
- Researched Google Adwords and
created a new 'Adwords' page
detailing my findings. Amazingly, some people are signing up
as affiliates to a product and then simply creating an Adword
campaign for the affiliate site. Does it work? Hmmmmm.
- New page about
Web Hosting has been added. It's
for all those newbie's like me.
- Created
eBegging page where I explain the concept of begging over the
internet and how to collect money on-line through the services of
PayPal (see PayPal definition).
- Discovered what Meta tags are and
how to use them on the website so that search engines can find you.
I spent hours, and I mean hours trying to figure out the best way to
go about submitting my site to search engines...and I'm still
perplexed. My hosting company offers a free automated
submission, so I signed up for it and within a day or two I received
emails from the search engines. Some requested more
information and others said that my site is now indexed. Now I
have to figure out how to get my site to the top of the lists.
There's just so much to learn! (If you're interested or need
help with this stuff, let me know and I'll publish some information
on it...)
- The major search engines, like
Google say that it will take 4-6 weeks to get indexed, so I guess I
have to wait for people to see my site - how crap is that?!?!?
I need to start making some money!
- Attempted to sign up to eBay as an
affiliate however they rejected me...I'm not sure why. It was
an automated process so I'm a bit confused. I printed out tons
of information from Commission Junction, a huge Affiliate Network
site. It's on my list to create a page on them. (eBay is a
member of Commission Junction)
- Thanks to a suggestion from a
reader, Ros, I added a
Bulletin Board for Money Online Readers to chat amongst
themselves. Once my site gets noticed I'm seriously hoping to
build a community of people that help each other out. Thanks
Ros!
- I set up an auto responder to my
eMails and then decided it was unnecessary - it was offered by my
host, so I thought I would try it...Perhaps I'll use it in the
future to thank people for signing up to the newsletter.
- A new book review under Sanity Tools
has been added, called Creative Visualization, by Shakti Gawain.
- Added a FREE eBook and review for
the book the Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace D. Wattles (Click
Here to see it!)
- Under the Support Me! section, I've
added a table to showcase all the people that have supported the
MoneyOnlineReview cause thus far!
- We've received over 15 messages from
the Contact Me form all sending positive words of encouragement.
Thank you for all your support!
- Created my first newsletter and sent
it out! Yikes!!!

Week 3 (w/c 8 December 2003):
Again, it's been one amazing week. I am honestly gob
smacked at the amount I've been learning. Where do I start!
- Congratulations!!! We've actually been able
to bring in £52.00 for our first eBay sale and it was painless.
The day after the auction ended, and communicating with the buyer, I
had a check in my hand and one less item to clutter my house!
- The week proved to be a frustrating one when
dealing with the hosting company. It took me three emails, one
phone call and a threat to get a silly account name and password.
For three days I could have uploaded my site, but I couldn't log in;
HOWEVER
- My SITE is now LIVE!!!! Yipppeeeee!
This site officially went live on the 12th of December, 2003.
I must say that I had no idea how to do it and thankfully the
hosting company had full instructions. I merely opened Front
Page and opened the tutorial side by side and followed along.
When I saw the status bar showing my site going up on the net, I
started to get excited/scared/eager...I was freaking out - I still
feel like I just don't have a clue about what I'm doing..but I'm
going to keep pushing forward. Nothing will stop me!
- I was able to configure my email for the domain,
again through my hosting company's tutorial system. In all
honesty, I didn't even know that I had that facility! I now
have my normal email AND my
info@moneyonlinereview.com email. AND it works!!!!
- As far as the nitty gritty goes, I added more
content as far as eBay, eBegging, PayPal, Support Tools, Affiliate
eBooks, etc. I created a Contact Me form and in Front Page it's
so easy that you just wouldn't believe it - all you do is click
Insert, Form and then pick the items you want, like a text box, etc.
When you make the form, Front Page says that it won't work, but once
it's uploaded it's fine. Currently, when you enter your
details into my newsletter or contact me, it works, however the page
it directs you to is terrible...I need to figure out how to get that
out.
- I spent hours and I mean hours creating the
bloody logo above and top part of the site. I have a copy of
Photoshop and I attempted to use it....You could spend a lifetime
just trying to figure the program out!! If you have some extra
money, get someone to create a logo for you! Also, there are
some companies out there that do logos for $20-$30...or you can
purchase software that helps you make your own logo based on various
templates.
- My lovely brother has offered to make the
above logo better, so watch this space!
- As far as my research went, I spent some time
reading the 15 Powerful Ways
that CBMall Makes you Money, by Jeff Mulligan
(Click here to read my review).
I'm really starting to understand the whole Affiliate Marketing
thing and believe it or not, I keep finding the same people (who are
the Super Affiliates) all over the place. To me, that means
that if I can model what they do, I have a chance!

Week 2 (w/c 1st
December 2003): HOLY SMOKES – I cannot believe the progress that I’ve made
this week (I’m so proud of myself). Here’s a list of my progress:
- Deciding on my theme last week, I’ve been able to brainstorm my
site menu and content by looking at other good sites. It simply
took me two days to get a humongous list on all the things for me to
research, test and report back to my viewers!
- I’ve written around 7 pages of content based on my above brainstorm
(Home, About Me, Support Me, Affiliates, Weekly Review,
Resources/Reviews – the opening page, and a review on the book I read
last week)
- I went through the scary process of picking a domain name:
MoneyOnlineReview.com. I think it sounds good – I’ll be reviewing the
potential of making money online…what do you think?
-
I’ve signed up for a hosting company – yikes!!! Last week I had no
clue about this stuff. Oh, and I’ve actually requested my domain name
to be pointed to my host – something to do with ‘namservers’…I don’t
know what they are, but I’m fairly confident that I’m doing it right.
Soon, I’ll have access to my actual live web space – how the freak will I
get my site up on the Internet???? Yikes. Okay Kim, focus on one day
at a time…slow your breathing…you’re doing good…
-
I’ve decided on the ‘look and feel’ of my site (colours, layout,
navigation, etc.). In all honesty, I found a website that I liked, I
did a right-click on the home page and hit “view source” copied the
code, opened Front Page and pasted it into the code section. I then
went to the design page and started changing the colours. I do not know
what I’m doing, but copying something and changing it sure seems easier
than creating one from scratch.
- I’ve read up to Chapter 6 in my MS Front Page 2003 book and I’ve
decided that it’s just easier to play with the program rather than read
about it. At least Front Page is similar to MS Word and I can get a
handle on it. I have a feeling that if I read it, I would be able to do
things a bit more professionally, but time is ticking and I need
money!!!
- I easily figured out how to put the Donation buttons on my site for the
Support Me! eBegging section. It’s a piece of cake – just go to the
eBegging section of my Resource/Reviews area for a complete
play-by-play. I wonder if anyone will ever donate money to me – I would
feel so cool. I would probably call up all my friends and family and
tell them…it just seems so strange. I wonder…do I get taxed on
donations given to me? Hehehehe…if anyone knows, please tell me!
- I signed up to one Affiliate Network
(for a definition click here),
and I’m ready to earn money. It was far easier than I thought it would
be.
- Oh – I almost forgot. Get this ---- (can you tell I’m
excited!). I signed up to eBay (for a
definition click here) as a seller and I put my very first item
up for auction. It’s a Sony player that was given to me as a
gift however I have no use for it. The bids are already up to £30.00,
so I’m already making some money. See the Resource/Reviews section
under eBay for a full report of how I did it. I’m not kidding when I
say it was SUPER EASY! I’m going to be able to change my ‘Money Earned’
section from £0 to something very soon! Yeah!

Week 1 (w/c 24th
November 2003): Started the week no longer employed and wondering how I’d earn
money to live. Having very little knowledge on the available ways to
earn money on the Internet, I started my research. (As a side note, I
don’t know how to create websites nor do I know how to get them on the
Internet, so I’m really freaking out right now). I’ve purchased and
read the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner
review) and I’m starting to brainstorm some ideas for my website…I
really want it to be a place where I can document all the research that
I’m doing and hopefully support people that are like me and want to find
an alternative lifestyle that is conducive to happiness! Please God,
please give me the strength to keep going because this is scary – I have
no money, but I do have a supportive husband and the beliefs to carry
on. I will succeed (I hope)!
